Growing a Vision Campaign

For 25 years, The Village Green has served the Cashiers community, enriching the lives of residents and visitors civically, spiritually, academically, recreationally and culturally. The Village Green has worked to create and sustain a public space to build a strong community. We endeavor to use this vital place in diverse ways to highlight local assets, spur growth and serve common needs. In additional to individual enjoyment of the park, The Village Green is home to more than 150 planned events each year including school programs, naturalist program series, youth summer camps, a summer farmers’ tailgate market and festivals that feature local business and artisans.

The Village Green continues its commitment to grow and serve the community. The Village Green has identified the need for expanded indoor public gathering space for cultural events and community activities. Weather and climate limit the potential to benefit the community year round.

We envision this facility as transformational by:

  • Increasing access to information and elevating civic responsibility and public engagement around important community issues as the necessary gathering space for forums, meetings and other civic oriented presentations
  • Strengthening the economic and physical health of the community as the location for job fairs and health screenings for area residents
  • Expanding educational opportunities for children and their families as the area’s largest classroom for a variety of subject matter such as nature, art, music and other cultural offerings; by enriching a shared spiritual life through inspirational programs and community-wide services
  • Enhancing the lifestyle of the community through increased exposure to the arts through concerts, dramatic performances, movies and recitals
  • Fostering relationships through special occasion celebrations and milestone moments for members of the community
  • Bridging diverse populations and demographics through these additional programs and services
