DESCRIPTION:The Highlands-Cashiers Land Trust and The Village Green co-host a series of lectures each summer. Visitors and residents learn about wildlife\, habitats\, conservation\, and local cultural heritage from expert speakers in their fields! The Village Nature Series will begin at 5:30pm on the last Tuesday of each month (August’s presentation will be held on the 20th) from April through September at The Village Green in Cashiers. \nThank you to Cedar Creek Club for sponsoring the Village Nature Series! \nMay 28th Presentation: North Carolina’s hemlock trees need your help. Though hemlocks are declining\, there is hope to bring them back to their previous glory! Join Olivia and Thom from the Hemlock Restoration Initiative to learn about hemlock ecology\, woolly adelgid biology\, what is being done to help\, and management strategies to take care of hemlocks on your own land.

SUMMARY:Cashiers Valley Leaf Festival
DESCRIPTION:This fall festival celebrates the leaves beginning to change in the beautiful mountain village of Cashiers\, NC! This popular and FREE community event welcomes 90 local and regional artisans to the park. Visitors to the festival will find unique handcrafted products such as wood\, pottery\, jewelry\, textiles\, fine art\, and much more on display and for sale throughout the weekend. Visitors are able to meet the artists who create their goods from start to finish. Food\, drink\, and live music add to the festive spirit of the event! The Cashiers Valley Leaf Festival will be held Friday through Sunday\, October 11-13\, 2024. \nThe Village Green’s hand painted glass Christmas ornaments will be available for purchase throughout the weekend at The Village Green’s tent! \nHours & Dates: \nFriday\, October 11th: 10am-5pm \nSaturday\, October 12th: 10am-5pm \nSunday\, October 13th: 10am-3pm
