SUMMARY:Green Market Wine Tasting with Dalla Terra
DESCRIPTION:Brian Larky of Dalla Terra Wine Direct will be in Cashiers from 2-5 p.m.\, Wednesday\, July 21 at The Village Green Commons.  He will be offering a wine tasting during the weekly Green Market.  Dalla Terra Wine Direct represents a small and select group of leading family-owned wineries in Italy.  Much like the mission of the Green Market to focus on locally grown and sourced food\, Larky’s goal is to minimize the footprint of the importer to make the best-quality wines from Italy accessible to consumers. What’s more the wineries Dalla Terra Wine Direct represents are grown sustainably and organically. \nBrian Larky will be pouring 18 different wines from a variety of regions in Italy. Dalla Terra Wine Direct represents producers from the Piedmont to Emilia-Romagna in the  North all the way to the southern regions of Puligia and Sicily.  Because of the diverse environments\, each region grows its own unique grapes that yield varieties like Barbera\, Sangiovese\, and Pinot Grigio.  These become popular as Barolo\, Brunello\, and Prosecco\, to name a few. \nHighlands Wine Shoppe is sponsoring this special Green Market event.  A $20 donation to taste the wines will benefit The Village Green\, Cashiers 13 acre privately conserved public park.  For more information\, call Highlands Wine Shoppe at 828-526-4080.
