DESCRIPTION:The Wobblers\, going into their 12th year in 2024 are a South Carolina\, eight-piece\, genre defying\, roots band pulling from New Orleans rhythms\, and including elements of Memphis Soul\, Chicago Blues\, with heavy Hammond organ and brassy horns. \nThe band includes a 4-piece horn section\, piano\, organ\, guitar\, bass and drums\, and plays about half original music\, and half eclectic soul infused rearranged covers\, (the song list is…. long. very very long) and has performed locally and regionally for the last 11 or so years and has developed a cult following as one of Upstate South Carolina’s most original sounding bands. \nGroovin’ on The Green is held rain or shine from 6-8:30pm on the Common’s Lawn. This is a FREE community event; no registration is necessary. Bring your dancing shoes\, lawn chairs\, picnics and cooler for a night of unforgettable musical experiences! Dogs are welcome if they are leashed and with their owners at all times. \nFood and beverage vendors will be onsite during the event! \nDonations are collected by The Village Green during the event to help offset event costs and to be able to continue to offer Groovin’ on The Green for FREE. The Village Green is a 501c3 nonprofit public park system that relies solely on donations to bring the community events we have all come to cherish. The Village Nature Series will begin at 5:30pm on the last Tuesday of each month (August’s presentation will be held on the 20th) from April through September at The Village Green in Cashiers. \nThank you to Cedar Creek Club for sponsoring the Village Nature Series! \nJuly 31st Presentation Description: Story is a conservation value that doesn’t drive most people’s ideas of evaluating and saving land. John Lane will discuss his latest book GULLIES OF MY PEOPLE in hopes of beginning a conversation about adding “restorying” to the index of conservation values. Lane knows through experience that stories are often lost as land changes land and status and creating narratives can reattach memories and events to places.

This outdoor concert series is held rain or shine on the Common’s Lawn! Lawn chairs and personal coolers are welcome. Dogs are welcome only if they are leashed and with their owners at all times. Food and beverage vendors will be onsite during the event! \nGroovin’ on The Green is free\, however\, The Village Green collects donations to help offset the cost of the event and bring the event free of charge for the community.

DESCRIPTION:Groovin’ on The Green remains a vibrant\, free summer concert series\, creating unforgettable musical experiences for the community! Groovin’ on The Green concerts will begin at 6pm\, rain or shine\, on The Village Green Commons Lawn. Concerts take place on select Fridays from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Food and beverage vendors will be on site during the event! Picnics\, coolers\, and beverages are welcome. Dogs are welcome if they are leashed and with their owners at all times. \nPretty Little Goat is grassroots music at its finest. The band formed in 2013 through their common grounding in the deep well of local tradition found in the mountains of Western North Carolina. As young lovers of old-time music\, Pretty Little Goat began winning string band competitions right away. Over the last six years the Goats have collaborated with many well respected local musicians including Jamie Laval\, Blake Ellege\, members of the Steep Canyon Rangers\, Jeff Sipe\, Jonathan Grey of Jump Little Children and many others.
