DESCRIPTION:Join us welcoming The Wondering Hours to the Commons Stage! \nBased in Tampa Bay\, Florida\, The Wandering Hours are an original take on traditional American string music combining old-time\, early bluegrass\, and folk into a dancey and lyrically deep band that always entertains fans of string music and first-time listeners. Formed in 2018\, they harness powerful lyrics and uplifting melodies using fiddle\, mandolin\, banjo\, guitar\, and upright bass.  They write original music in this vein\, as well as playing some of the important songs and tunes from these eras.   \nGroovin’ on The Green is FREE and takes place rain or shine on the Commons Lawn at The Village Green. Food and beverage vendors will be available at each concert and concert-goers are welcome to bring their own picnics and coolers. Please bring your own lawn chairs and blankets; personal tents are not allowed at Groovin’. \nGroovin’ on The Green is free and open to the public\, however\, donations are collected to directly support The Village Green\, a 501c3 nonprofit park system that relies on grants and donations to offer our programming. Your donation helps keep Groovin’ on The Green alive year after year!

This fun\, family-friendly event is a great way to start your holiday with a scenic run or walk. \nRegistration for the 2026 race opens in August! \nIn addition to the 5K\, we’ll host the 5th Annual Junior Warrior Course at The Village Green Playground\, designed for kids to enjoy a free\, interactive obstacle course! It’s a perfect way for families to be involved! Each participant receives a fun prize! \nPre-Race Check-In:\nPick up your race bib and t-shirt early on Wednesday\, November 25th\, 2026\, from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM at Lewis Hall (160 Frank Allen Road\, Cashiers). Early check-in is encouraged to ensure an on-time race start on Thanksgiving morning! \nRace Day Check-In:\n7:15 AM – 8:30 AM on Thanksgiving morning\, November 26th. \nRace Details: 2026 will feature a NEW 3.2 mile course! \nPlease note that parts of the course include gravel\, grass\, dirt\, and paved paths. While The Village Green is a dog-friendly park\, due to the number of participants\, no dogs are allowed in the race. \nAwards & Prizes:\nAwards will be given to the top two overall winners in each of the 7 age categories.
