Plein Air Art & al fresco Sculpture join hands at the first "Arts on the Green" Festival in Cashiers, NC July 12-17, 2010.
The Village Green in Cashiers, NC hosts a weeklong "Arts on the Green" festival July 12-17, 2010. This is the not-to-be-missed event of the year and includes sculpture and lectures, art demonstrations and plein air artists painting at easels around town. A week long and ever-changing "Wet Room" of completed works escalates to an artistic Palette to Palate Affair and ribbon cutting of the Sculpture Exhibition Friday night.
Plan on spending the day at the park on Saturday, July 17th. The day's festivities include the Sculpture Exhibition opening to the public, painters competing in the juried Plein Air Quick Draw competition, children's art activities, lunch, music featuring a rhythmic drumming exhibition, blues and jazz, plus a final awards ceremony and cocktails to celebrate all of the paintings of our beautiful area produced during the week.
