The Village Green is a great venue for your next celebration.

Welcome to The Village Green

The Village Green is a 13.2 acre park located in the heart of Cashiers, North Carolina, at the crossroads of Highway 64 and Highway 107. Hosting thousands of visitors and over 80 events each year, The Village Green is not only the heart of Cashiers in its location, but also in its ability to draw family and friends together in community. The Village Green is a park for the people.

Stroll the paths of the park around grassy lawns, along wetlands and through the forest glade. Enjoy a picnic lunch with friends. Learn about raptors, honeybees, native plants and bears. Celebrate the seasons and capture treasured moments with family. Discover art, culture and regional heritage. Host a party, wedding or reunion. Photograph colorful dahlias. Listen to a concert. Dance beneath the stars. This is your park, naturally!

We are proud to preserve the legacy of Cashiers for more than 25 years.

Information Regarding the COVID-19 Coronavirus

Village Green Friends

The Village Green is closely monitoring the latest news and updates from the CDC, state and county government officials in order to make the most informed decisions relating to our 13+ acre privately conserved community park.  This includes determinations regarding upcoming events and programming.  The health and safety of everyone who visits the park is of greatest importance.

The Village Green is open and available as a free resource to Cashiers residents and visitors.  The park is a great place to enjoy the therapeutic benefits of being outside while practicing social distancing. You are invited to picnic in one of our shelters, wander the walking paths, and look for signs of spring emerging, especially the diversity of migratory birds visiting the park right now.

We regret that it will be necessary, out of an abundance of caution, to close the Village Play until further notice. We have been advised by the Jackson County Health Department that the playground does not fall within the social distancing guidelines; they are recommending avoiding playgrounds and play equipment.

We are also disappointed to cancel Easter Weekend activites, including the annual Easter Egg Hunt scheduled for Saturday, April 11. Because the situation with the coronavirus is fluid and evolving, we will continue to keep track of developments with regard to upcoming events and programming. If it becomes necessary to postpone or cancel additional planned community activities we will post this information on our website and on social media (Follow and Like @cashiersgreen).

While there are no known examples of community transmission within our area, it is difficult to know how the virus might shift and spread.  This means that we need to prepare and do what we can to reduce the risk and prevent the spread of COVID-19.

We will be increasing our attentiveness to cleaning public spaces.  These spaces are already cleaned thoroughly daily.  Due to concerns about COVID-19, staff will be disinfecting surfaces and ensuring that the public restrooms are reopened, available and supplied for handwashing as soon as we are able.

The Village Green business operations also continue.  However, our staff will be working remotely.  Please email director@cashiersgreen.com or call 828-743-3434 should you need assistance.

As always, thank you for supporting The Village Green, in the heart of Cashiers, for Cashiers.  Please take care of yourself and stay healthy.
